Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Sometimes I have some bleeding after sex, however, when I use a lubricant, I do not have any bleeding. On the other hand, I have a watery discharge. My period lasts four to five days, then for two days I have nothing and then I have pink liquid blood coming out of my vagina it lasts for two days. I am 19 years old, I went to see my gynecologist and she keeps telling me that this is normal and that I do not have to worry because I am only 19 years old. She then gave me a gynecological examination and a pap test. She says that my cervix looks sensitive and that there is nothing really wrong. But I am very exasperated, I see that my vaginal discharge is a symptom of cancer except that mine does not smell. I just want to know if I should worry or not. Because even if she tells me that I am young that it will be rare and my cervix looks normal. She does not give me any details. Please suggest an opinion.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Bleeding after intercourse are a sign of different pathologies such as inflammation, infection, precancerous lesion, etc. But if it was something related to precancerous lesion it would not be have any effect with lubricant. At your age, the genital cells are still developing. Moreover, the pap smear report gives you a clear conclusion and diagnosis. I think it may be inflammation and that is quite common. Also, the bleeding depends on the day of your cycle, during the ovulation it is a common finding.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But why is my vagina discharge watery? I mean it is liquid and clear, is that normal? And why I have two days of light watery bleeding after my period? That is what concerns me because I saw that watery vaginal discharge could be a sign of cancer.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As long as the discharge are normal, clear, and odorless. As you are growing up they will change and will be thicker. And the bleeding that you prescribe after period is your menstrual pattern. It is an individual normal finding. You do not have to worry about it. Perform a pap test after 6-12 months.

I hope this helps.
