Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have noticed a brownish to dark red, reddish mucus discharge on the toilet paper as I wiped after urination. Also, some brown spots on my underwear. But after intercourse tonight with my boyfriend, there was bright red bleeding with a clot. My last period was last month, so I was worried since I was not close to that. I am having slight cramps but not horrible, and an urge to urinate. I did not know if this was my period or not. The medications I am taking for acid reflux are Ranitidine and Pantoprazole. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You should consult a gynecologist for a checkup to see any local injury which might have occurred as you had bright red bleeding. Also, it happened after day 16 or 17 of your periods which is not normal. Your symptoms also suggest a urine infection, so get a urine routine and culture plus your partner's urine and semen culture done so that both of you are treated simultaneously. An internal examination is a must. Take a tablet of Tranexamic acid 500 mg two to three times a day for three days till the bleeding subsides. Consult a specialist and take the medications with their consent.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
