Hello doctor,
It has been three days since sexual activity I am still bleeding and also my lower belly is bloated and in bit of a pain. It has been a year since I had any sexual contact. The last time I did use protection.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Bleeding after sexual activity can be caused by several factors, including vaginal dryness, trauma or injury to the vaginal area, infections, or abnormal growths such as polyps or cysts. The lower belly pain and bloating could be related to the bleeding or could be indicative of another issue such as an infection or inflammation. Given that you used protection during your last sexual encounter, and it has been a year since your last sexual contact, it is less likely that this bleeding is related to a sexually transmitted infection (STI). However, it is still possible that infection or inflammation may be causing your symptoms. I would recommend that you go for an ultrasound and Pap (Papanicolaou test) smear or cultures, to check for infections or abnormalities. If the bleeding is heavy or accompanied by severe pain or fever, seek medical attention urgently or go to the emergency room. In the meantime, avoid sexual activity and wear loose-fitting clothing to help alleviate any discomfort. It is also important to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. I hope this information is helpful and wish you a speedy recovery.

Thank you.
