Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My period was skipped 20 days ago. When I was tested, I was pregnant. But yesterday I had a slight bleeding. Is it fine?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I have reviewed your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). I also wanted to know whether it was your first pregnancy or if you have been pregnant before. The scan shows an endometrial thickness of 15 millimeters, and also they have suggested a blood hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) test.

Kindly answer the following questions:

  1. Was the bleeding very light or dark?
  2. How many pads did you use?
  3. Were there any cramps or pain?
  4. Have you experienced bleeding anytime to date after your last period?
  5. Are you taking folic acid and multivitamins?
  6. How about your general health?

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I am pregnant for the second time. My husband and I decided not to have it, and I took abortion pills, but when I tested myself, I got to know that I was pregnant. My cousin's baby fell on my stomach, and I had severe bleeding for ten minutes, followed by light bleeding for two hours. After that, I do not see a single drop of bleeding. I feel a dull pain in my stomach, and I am also feeling too giddy.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

  1. How is your health now?
  2. Was there any bleeding today?
  3. How is your pain?

Do not worry. Take care of your health and do not do any heavy work. Take bed rest, and let me know if you experience any bleeding or pain again. Do the test as directed again three to five days later. After around seven to eight weeks, we can do an ultrasound to check the pregnancy's progress.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If bleeding on and off, you need to get a repeat scan for the gestational sac. Do not exert yourself, do not lift heavy weights, and avoid constipation. Have plenty of oral fluids. Are you on any progesterone support?

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

I understand your concern.

I am not taking Progesterone. Is this bleeding considered pregnancy discharge?

Thanks.

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Kindly get a repeat scan for the gestational sac to confirm the pregnancy. No, this bleeding does not mean the pregnancy has been discharged. The bleeding can be due to various reasons. Feel free to ask any questions or to share any additional information.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
