Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My gums are sensitive and bleed easily, and it is painful to chew hard foods. My teeth are rotting and making a front gap.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Is there any bleeding on brushing? Is there any burning sensation in the mouth? Get some lab tests done and provide me with photographs. The probable cause is poor oral hygiene. Investigations that need to be done include OPG (orthopantomogram), serum Vitamin B12 and levels of Hba1C (hemoglobin a1C). Differential diagnosis can be gingivitis, periodontitis, or ANUG (acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis). Therefore, the probable diagnosis is periodontitis. The treatment plan includes scaling and root planning and requires an immediate follow-up. Need to maintain oral hygiene as a preventive measure.

The Probable causes

Poor oral hygiene.

Advised OPG. Serum Vitamin B12 levels. HBa1C.

Differential diagnosis

Treatment plan

Preventive measures

Regarding follow up

As soon as possible along with investigations.
