Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Can a person suffering from high blood pressure donate blood?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I respect your concern on blood donation. Definitely yes. A person who is suffering from hypertension (high blood pressure) can donate blood; provided his blood pressure is normal at the time of blood donation and he must not be suffering from other associated untreated comorbidities. In short, donor must be on regular medication and having good blood pressure control. Those who have fluctuating blood pressure with irregular treatment and those who are suffering from other illnesses associated with hypertension better not to donate.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
