Patient's Query

Hi,

I got blood in my semen from the past two times when I was trying to masturbate. What can be the reason? And what is the cure for it?

Answered by Dr. Vaibhav Vishal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. There can be many reasons for blood in semen. But the most common is an infection of the prostate and seminal vesicle gland. The treatment protocol is to start on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory treatment. I suggest you get a rectal examination for the prostate done by a urologist, do a transrectal ultrasound of the prostate, and do semen analysis after the course of antibiotics.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi,

Is it something to worry? Or it can be treated easily ?

Answered by Dr. Vaibhav Vishal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As suggested above, in most cases, it is due to infection, and it gets treated with antibiotics. But it is better to do the tests that I have suggested to rule out other possible causes of the problem.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
