Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past two months, I found a red dot on my breast. It does not hurt, but it is itchy sometimes. What should I do? When I am sweating it gets more red and itchy. I have this from six weeks ago. After three weeks, it got better and almost disappeared, but now it got again bigger and red with a blackhead. There is no secretion from it. It does not have an open head. When I am pressing on it, it seems there is nothing under my finger (no root) it is not like a pimple.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the pictures you have sent (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Based on the pictures and your description, it does not look like any pimple or infection at present. It looks like a small inflammatory spot, mostly secondary to some trauma or some insect bite. Are there any lumps felt below that red spots? It would be advisable not to try popping or pressing it hard as it would lead to the adjacent tissues being affected. Just apply some antibiotics and steroid cream combinations available in your country as per the local policy and wait for it to subside in a few days. If it still does not go off, I would advise you to pay a visit to your surgeon for a check-up and evaluation.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

There are no lumps. But it has been there for the past six weeks. What kind of antibiotics and steroid cream shall I use? Could you please provide the generic name?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If the lesion was present for six weeks and has not increased in size or is causing no pain. I do not think it should be anything to worry about. You can give a trial of applying a Betamethasone cream locally for five days and see. If it still does not reduce or increases in size or gets infected or causes increasing pain, then it would be better to consult your doctor for checkup once. So that your doctor can have a look and see if anything needs to be done further or not.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
