Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a 2-month-old baby. My breast milk supply is very poor and does not satisfy the baby. I give the baby formula milk, but I want to increase my breast milk supply. I have tried everything, but it was not successful. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I suggest you do the following to improve breast milk output.

  1. Take adequate rest. Lack of rest (sleep) affects milk output.
  2. Do hydrate adequately.
  3. Take a nutritious meal.
  4. Ensure the baby empties one side of breast milk (foremilk and hindmilk) and then only attaches to the other side.
  5. Have two to three hours intervals in between the feed.
  6. You can take the help of Satawari powder (an ayurvedic formulation) to improve milk output.

Use Top feed (formula feed) only at night. During the day, focus more on breastfeeding.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
