Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

There is likely development of a right breast abscess evident by ultrasound breast and more likely due to inflammatory changes. If you have been breastfeeding, this kind of abscess formation is often if the child is not fed well or if some milk is left inside the breast. Continue breastfeeding. I suggest you start an oral antibiotic like Amoxyclav 625 mg (Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid) twice daily for five days, along with painkillers to control the infection and abscess. Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent. If the abscess does not resolve, it must be surgically removed.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Does the abscess dissolve with the help of medicine, or is surgery the only option? And the report shows that there are benign cystic lesions on the left breast. Is it curable by medicine?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

A five-day course of antibiotics does help resolve the small abscesses, and they form the first line of treatment. However, if the pain continues to increase, the best thing to do is drain the pus surgically. Benign cystic lesions in the left breast can be due to fibrocystic breast disease, and they can be controlled with primrose oil and vitamin E capsules. Still, antibiotics need to be taken first. Consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this information will be helpful.

Thanks.
