Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 42 years old. I have heavy periods. I have my regular blood tests as I can feel so unwell with breathlessness and dizzy. I have low blood pressure and doctor never seems concerned as she says my results are around 11.5 but my systems really affect day to day life. Should I have further tests?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Following is my opinion about your asked question.

Your main complaint is breathing difficulty and dizziness. For that, you need to investigate further with complete CBC (Complete Blood Count) to check hemoglobin level. Your hemoglobin report is not attached herewith. If your hemoglobin level is below the normal range then iron tablet can be prescribed.

For your dizziness, ear examination also should be done to check the otological cause.

For your breathing difficulty problem, chest X-ray, EKG, and spirometry like investigation planned according to the need and after discussion with your doctor.

Your attached reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity), show no specific abnormalities and liver, kidney are functioning well. If all comes clear then history about anxiety should be taken to rule out anxiety induced panic attacks.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I only get breathless certain times of the month, with sluggish and hair loss.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your attached report is normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Do not worry about that. Your hemoglobin level is normal, MCV like indices are also not abnormal, so you are not having anemia. There is no need for any further treatment regarding anemia.

You can just plan EKG (electroencephalogram) and spirometry if needed after your physical examination. Anxiety might be the reason for dyspnea as well. So if you have anxiety issues due to some social or other problem than mention it.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
