Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I experience brown discharge periodically throughout the day during pregnancy. It just started three days ago. I am currently five weeks and three days pregnant. My last period was seven months ago. Why do I have this spotting?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Brown discharge in early pregnancy is not normal. This can either be a sign of some infection or can be a sign of early pregnancy failure. It depends on the symptoms you are having, along with brown discharge. For now, the most important thing is to get one ultrasound done to know about the pregnancy, gestation, and fetus viability. Also, take adequate rest, and do not do any strenuous activity or exercise.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I am happy after consulting you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If there is associated pain along with discharge, then I suggest you take the tablet Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) 10 mg twice daily until the ultrasound is done. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
