Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I get lumps and bumps on my private area that usually goes off on their own. Sometimes it is painful while sometimes it is not and it always goes off on its own. But after a few days, it returns and goes off again. Please may I know what is wrong with me?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

The lumps and bumps you are experiencing in your private area may be related to a condition called folliculitis. Folliculitis is an infection of the hair follicles that can cause red, tender bumps to form around the hair shafts. These bumps may be filled with pus, and they may itch or burn. Folliculitis can be caused by a variety of factors like shaving, waxing, or friction from clothing. Folliculitis can be treated with over-the-counter creams and ointments. It is important to keep the area clean and dry and to avoid shaving or waxing until the bumps have cleared up. Another possibility is that the bumps are related to an infection caused by a sexually transmitted infection, or a yeast infection. It is important to seek medical attention, especially if you are experiencing any other symptoms such as pain, itching, discharge, or burning sensation. Visit a gynecologist who will perform an examination and take appropriate cultures to diagnose the condition and provide the appropriate treatment.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
