Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There are bumps on my penis that are not healing for long. If I squeeze it hard, a small amount of pus comes out. I am diagnosed with HSV 1. I never had unprotected sex; I just had oral sex.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Kindly answer the below-mentioned questions so that I could guide you better.

1. How long have you been experiencing this problem?

2. Is there any discharge from the penis?

3. When did unprotected sex happen?

4. Have you taken any treatment?

I have checked the image shared by you (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It appears similar to warts. The other possibility could be molluscum.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is no discharge from the penis. I have not had unprotected sex since very long. However, I am experiencing this problem since last year. I have not taken any medicine yet. I have always been too embarrassed to go. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In that case I will review the possibilities. It appears that the lesions are due to scabies. This is a mite infection and commonly present with itching mostly at night. This appears on genital areas and has nothing to do with sexual activities. It spreads through bedding or linens or through close contact with infected persons. The treatment is not difficult but should be taken regularly. Please apply Permethrin lotion all over the body below face overnight and then this should be repeated after a couple of weeks. All bedding and linens should be washed properly and kept in sunlight. If you stay with your family then family members should also be treated for this. You need to use Crotamiton and Hydrocortisone combination cream over the genital lesions. I would advise you to visit a doctor for evaluation in person. Do not feel shy this has nothing to do with sexual intercourse. A good dermatologist will make diagnosis.

Thanks.
