Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a burning sensation when urinating last week. I did an STI (sexually transmitted infections) test and it was negative. Then what could be the reason for the burning sensation? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

There would be multiple causes of burning urine, like bladder infections, prostatitis (prostate gland inflammation), or, very rarely, kidney stones. To answer your question in terms of diet, I would suggest you first avoid caffeine entirely or at least limit it to an extent. Also, avoid acidic beverages or very spicy foods by diet alone. Stay well hydrated through the day and eat green leafy vegetables. If the symptoms of burning urine apparently continue without any other cause, you need to consult the physician.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
