Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had an issue with a burning sensation when I urinate. I have seen a urologist who looked inside my bladder and did not see anything wrong. I have had blood tests and urine samples, and everything has come back to normal. I wondered if the issue could be a gynecological problem. It would have shown in my urine and blood test reports if an infection was present. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you follow a urologist's advice and have a proper follow-up. But from the gynecology side, it is better to exclude pelvic infection, sexually transmitted infection, or any other local cause like a fibroid. Have one high vaginal swab test, transvaginal scan, cervical smear, and local examination. Maintain strict hygiene. Wear soft and comfortable undergarments. Use condoms to avoid sexually transmitted infections. Have a Sitz bath to avoid irritation. Try to avoid cosmetics locally. Use a soft razor to remove hair. After the swab test, I suggest you take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and a tablet of Flagyl (Metronidazole) 400 mg eight hourly for seven to fourteen days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. Collect swabs and scan reports and others if you can do and discuss them here or with a local gynecologist to have proper advice, as you might need any specific treatment. I hope things will be better.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
