Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a mild burning sensation in my eyes since I got up this morning and it seems to be on and off during the day. And what concerns me the most is that they are not watery or red. What are your suggestions on this? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. You mentioned you have a burning sensation in your eyes without redness and watering. The causes for this are, insufficient sleep, dry eyes, excessive screen time and squamous blepharitis, but in this, itching will be present. Also, it will lead to fever and malaise. So, in this scenario, the mainstay of the treatment will be the same. They are, to get enough sleep. Avoid excess screen time; blink frequently if you cannot avoid it. Do hot fomentation over both eyes as much as possible or at least twice a day. I suggest you to start on lubricating eye drops available at your place, preferably Carboxymethylcellulose sodium ophthalmic solution (lubricating eye drops) 0.5 % four times a day for one month. Consult with a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent. And if you feel feverish, please take rest. I hope you got the answer. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
