Candidal balanoposthitis is an inflammatory condition caused by candidal infection of the penis's foreskin and head. It can also be due to fungal, protozoal, and viral infections. Most commonly, candidal infections cause balanoposthitis in uncircumcised males. Symptoms include tight foreskin, itching and burning sensations, pain, dry skin, irritation, discharge, lesions, discoloration, swelling, etc. Treatment includes antimicrobial medications based on the causative agent, good personal hygiene procedures, and topical steroids. Other conditions causing balanoposthitis are psoriasis, eczema, allergic hygiene products, scratching due to masturbation, tight foreskin, etc.
