Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male. I recently got a red dot on my penis head, and it got multiplied all over my penis head in a day. Sometimes, itchiness is present, and I am currently applying castor oil to it. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

From the history, it seems you have developed candidal balanitis. It is a kind of fungal infection of the genitals. Do you have any discharge? I need to see the rash, as such bumps can occur due to multiple other causes. Kindly revert with a photograph so I can provide you definitive diagnosis and suggest treatment.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you. I do not have any discharge. Also, there are no bumps on the surface. For the past four days, I have been taking tablets for normal throat irritation Billargic 20 mg and Celfee 500 mg. After the first day of the course of these tablets, the red dots appeared.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I have seen the photographs (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, this is candidal balanitis. It is a fungal infection of the glans caused by yeast in which such red spots occur associated with itching. Do not worry. It is a very common infection in males. It can occur due to sexual contact or poor hygiene. Take tablet Fluconazole 150 mg single tablet and Fexofenadine 180 mg daily at night for seven days. Apply Clotrimazole cream at night for three weeks. It will be resolved with these medicines. Kindly follow up in three weeks.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

The red dots in the previously appeared area are all gone. It has been like five days. But now, it has again started to appear in a new area (not where it has already appeared). I have followed all your medications and have left it a week back.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It has been 15 days, and you stopped medicine five days back. So you applied cream for ten days only. That is why asked you to apply cream for three weeks to avoid recurrence. Please apply cream for two more weeks to treat this. Do not worry.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks again. I mistook every medicine for seven days. The tablets are over, and from today onwards, I will start applying the cream for two more weeks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks. The red dots have gone, but I still get the redness often.

Answered by Dr. Deepti Shukla

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Please answer these for a better understanding:

1. How frequently do you get redness?

2. Do you have itching also?

For redness, I suggest you apply Tacroz 0.03 % (Tacrolimus) cream in very small quantities only at night for two weeks. Do not worry.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

If I have a hot shower, I get the redness. Also, if I masturbate, the area becomes red.

Answered by Dr. Deepti Shukla

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

That may be due to increased blood circulation after a hot shower and masturbation. Apply this Tacroz cream, and that will give you relief.

Revert in case of queries.

Kind regards.
