Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 23 years old and experiencing severe pain in my chest, jaw, and arm. It happened while I was driving my truck. I had a severe jolt of pain in my chest that radiated through my jaw, head, and left arm. The pain lasted for five to ten minutes then faded away. It came back after 20 to 30 minutes, but it was not as severe as before. I am scared, please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. You are very young to have chest pain due to cardiac disease. However, I would like to know more about your medical history to understand your case better. Do you feel pain in the chest after physical exertion? Do you have a family history of cardiac diseases? Do you have tightness in the chest? Have you checked your blood sugar and cholesterol levels? Have you checked your blood pressure? Since you are overweight, we need to rule out any cardiac issue before looking for other causes of chest pain. I will suggest you to undergo an ECG (electrocardiogram), followed by a Stress echo (echocardiogram). Kindly follow up with all the information regarding your medical history. Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. I do not have any of the symptoms that you have mentioned. However, I have a positive history of cardiac disease in my father's side of the family. Almost everyone has died due to stroke and heart attack. My father was also suffering from a cardiac disease and passed away due to stroke a few years ago. I check my blood pressure this morning, it was 126/65 mmHg, and a heart rate of 70 beats per minute. Kindly give your suggestions

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your reply above and I suggest you to undergo some blood tests as you have a family history of cardiac disease. Also, mention if you have the habit of smoking or consuming alcohol. If yes, mention the frequency and quantity. I suggest you undergo a few blood tests to check your blood sugar levels, Lipid profile, Hba1c levels(glycated hemoglobin). Also, I suggest you undergo an ECG/Stress test and a chest X-ray PA (posteroanterior) view. Do ECG/Stress test, and Chest X-ray PA (posteroanterior) view. These tests will give us an idea whether there is some underlying cardiac issue. I hope this has helped you out. Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
