Q. What could be the reason for chest pain that resolves very quickly on its own?

I have had recurrent pain in the chest slightly towards the left side recently, which subsided on its own very quickly, which makes me concerned about it. But as I am joining the military service, I did not want to get the check-up done. Is there a need to worry about it? Kindly help.
