Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My HDL is 34.8 mg/dL and LDL is 140.78 mg/dL due to which I feel anxiety during sleep at night therefore I could not sleep properly for the last three nights. Please guide me on this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is a bit high but not that high to start the medicine. HDL (high-density lipoprotein) should be 40 at least in males. No need to worry, both of these can be corrected with diet and exercise. Avoid fatty foods, especially trans fats and saturated fats. Do regular exercise. Reduce weight a little. This will have a positive impact on your lipid profile. Labs can be repeated after six months.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But I could not sleep properly for the last three nights due to a feeling of anxiety. Today, also I sleep from 7 AM to 10 AM only. Actually, when I try to sleep my heartbeat become very fast and start sensation in my left hand. And while fast heartbeat I measure my BP, it always remains normal.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Sleeplessness is due to anxiety and anxiety is due to a slightly deranged lab reports. You have taken undue stress of the results. This report is not to be worried. It is not abnormal results. Regarding sleeplessness, take tablet Alprazolam 0.5 mg daily at night for a few nights. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic drug that relieves anxiety and aids in sleep. Take one tablet three to five nights. Drink plenty of liquids preferably water. When I have concern about my patient's lipid profile and they come with this report I congratulate them for nice results. The only thing needed is some lifestyle modifications.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
