Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 30-year-old male who has been coughing for a month. In between, it got fine, but again it got started. I do not have any fever or chest pain. My sputum also looks normal. I do not have any problem with sleeping or breathing. But when I breathe through my mouth, I get some feeling inside my throat, and I begin to cough. Now, I have a cough, and my nose is completely blocked. I am not taking any medications. How to manage this condition? Please help. Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. First, you need to get a physical examination by your family doctor to rule out bronchitis. If you have no bronchitis, you must control your blocked nose with anticongestant nasal spray, aerosol therapy, and menthol lozenges throughout the day. Apply vapor rub on your chest and upper back at bedtime. Take herbal rhinitis medicine containing thyme and menthol. But most important, to get a physical examination by your family doctor. I hope this information will help. Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
