Chronic Leukemia

Cancer of the blood-forming structures such as the bone marrow and spleen is called leukemia. In chronic leukemia, blood cell replication occurs gradually and carries out routine functions, so more mature blood cells are seen. As a result, chronic leukemia is asymptomatic in the early stages or can remain undiagnosed for years. It is of two types that include chronic lymphocytic leukemia and chronic myelogenous leukemia.
