Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21 year old male. I am currently studying civil engineering. I feel like a total loser all the time. I do not only feel, but it is also true that I am good at nothing. I do not know how to make good friends. I do not have any talent. I do not study well, and I failed in many subjects. Starting from my childhood, people call me a loser. My life is hopeless. My father is a government employee, and his earnings are sufficient. He has lots of hopes and expectations on me, but I do not think I can fulfill them. Because I suck at everything, and I am so fed up. Wherever I go, I try my best. But, my best is not even the average of other people. I do not know what to do. Please guide me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the question. No one is a loser unless he considers himself as a loser. Circumstances could be negative, but the person's perception is the key. Whatever is your behavior today, whatever body language you have today, are all learned from your past experiences and social interactions. Whatever you have learned can be unlearned or overwritten. This is a continuous process, happening throughout your life. I suggest cognitive behavior therapy for you. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
