Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My 2.5 year old boy has cough and runny nose for one month. I am giving him Montemac-l and Ascoril- LS junior 0.50 teaspoon twice a day.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your concern. Repeated viral infection is suggestive of poor immunity. Unless you focus on improving kids' immunity, their health will not improve. His hemoglobin level might be low for his age, which again predisposes him to viral infections.

  1. I suggest you add a high-protein diet to his meal.
  2. Add iron supplements and a diet rich in iron.
  3. Do deworming every six months.
  4. Do not give him cough and cold medication on a daily basis, as it has side effects on prolonged usage.

I hope I helped you with your concern.

Thanks and regards.
