Colicky Abdominal Pain

Colicky abdominal pain are sharp, abrupt, and localized. The three types of colic are biliary, renal, and intestinal. Gall stones block the ducts from the gall bladder to the pancreas and liver, causing biliary colic. Pain occurs under the breastbone region or central abdomen. Renal stones in the kidney, urethra, bladder, or ureter cause renal colic. Pain is on the side of the abdomen. Impacted feces, intestinal polyps, inflamed diverticula, cancer, and Crohn's disease causes intestinal colic. It causes cramp-like pain.
