Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My cousin has colorectal cancer. He has undergone 25 quarters of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, photon radiation, and tablet Capecitabine. In addition, three cycles of chemotherapy with Carboplatin and Etoposide are done. Does he still require surgery, and how good will his recovery be? Will cancer be cured completely, and can he lead a normal life after complete treatment?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I would suggest surgery is a must for the completion of treatment completion and cancer can be cured. However, the quality of life may sometimes get compromised due to side effects of the treatment, and there are possibilities for recurrence.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
