Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am currently 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Midwife worked out from the first day of my last menstrual cycle. In which approximate date, could I have conceived?

Answered by Dr. Sadaf Mustafa

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. The estimated conception date of this pregnancy falls within the timeframe of the 11th to the 21st of the previous month. It is also important to note that the potential sexual intercourse leading to this pregnancy could have occurred anywhere from the 6th to the 21st of the same month. Determining the exact conception date and identifying the potential window of sexual intercourse can aid in understanding the progression of the pregnancy and provide valuable insights for medical evaluation and care.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Are you sure about the conception date? My concern is I was away on holiday and consumed more alcohol than normal during the first one week of last month. So, my anxiety has gone into overdrive.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. If you could share your LMP (last menstrual period), then I will be in a better position to answer your question.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

My LMP was on the 3rd of last month. Usually, I bleed for five to six days.

Answered by Dr. Sadaf Mustafa

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. Based on the information provided, it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant since your periods started on the 3rd and you had a normal flow. It indicates that you did not conceive during that cycle. Therefore, you can be reassured about the absence of pregnancy. Additionally, the alcohol consumption you mentioned should not have any adverse effects on this pregnancy, as conception did not occur during that time. Congratulations on your journey to motherhood, and take care of yourself during this exciting phase of life. If you have any further concerns or questions, feel free to ask for guidance and support.
