Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex a few months back with another person and then got back with my boyfriend. I had a regular period after the first unprotected sexual encounter. I took an ovulation test, and as I was ovulating, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend to try and have another child. I am pregnant now and almost due, but I read online about how you can have your period and still be pregnant. Is that true? I do not know why I am suddenly second-guessing who the dad is. I am 99 percent sure it is my boyfriend, but for some crazy reason, I am overthinking. Also, if I were pregnant ten months back, I would have the baby by now. And yes, I have a regular obstetric appointment but am too embarrassed to talk about it or ask questions. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I would need to ask a few more questions about ejaculation to tell whose baby it is. Could you please elaborate on where did the ejaculation happen on both episodes? Can you please follow up with the details to help you further?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor.

In my first intercourse, he pulled out, and in the second intercourse, my boyfriend came inside of me. According to my obstetrician, I am 38 weeks pregnant, calculating from the date of my last menstrual period (LMP). The first ultrasound, I believe, was at nine weeks. Would my doctor tell me if they thought I was further than nine weeks at that time? Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Could you please send a copy of your ultrasound reports to have a look? According to the dates you are saying, it looks like it is due to your contact with your boyfriend. Please elaborate on the following:

What do you mean by pulling out? As different people do differently.

Where did he ejaculate after pulling out, on the vagina, far away, or on the body?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

hank you for your response.

I mean, he pulled out from inside of me and ejaculated into his hand, far away from my vagina. The following month I had a regular period that lasted five days.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your issue entirely now. Do not worry, and this pregnancy results from your sexual activity from your second encounter. According to you, the first partner ejaculated on his hand, and you had a regular period after that, which clarifies that you are pregnant with your boyfriend. I hope this helps.

Thank you.
