Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Can you please let me know how to lower my cholesterol as I am trying to get pregnant? Also, is it safe to take tablet Rosuvastatin?

Kindly advise.

Answered by Dr. Natasha Bansal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and will surely help you. There is no medicine that safely lowers the cholesterol levels during pregnancy. I suggest you to make dietary changes and include a regular physical activity in your routine. Also, you can use tablet Rosuvastatin for three months, repeat the lipid profile and if the reports are normal, then start trying for pregnancy. I have reviewed the reports that you have shared (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Your profile is only slightly deranged and it can be managed with diet and exercise within three months.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

If I take tablet Rosuvastatin for three months, can we try getting pregnant from the fourth month? Or should we start trying three months after stopping the medicine? Also, what is the recommended dosage?

Kindly suggest.

Answered by Dr. Natasha Bansal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can start trying from the next month itself, as the medicine has no delayed effects. I suggest you take tablet Rosuvastatin 20 mg once daily at night. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
