Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

In the last two months my period span was 34 days. As I am trying to get conceive I went to gynecologist to know is there any wrong. She asked me to get CBC (complete blood count), hormone test and urine test. My blood sugar and all other are normal. My LH 6.31, FSH 7.91 and prolactin 53.92. During my next visit she did pelvic test and started transvaginal USG. She did four set of T-USG and yesterday she gave me hCG 5000 injection. I am very much confused because she told me if my RH ovary value become minimum 2 then it will be fine to conceive. Yesterday it was 3 and still she gave injection. I got married before one and a half year and I am trying to conceive only for the past three months. Why is she doing all these tests? Are these really required? We can wait still one year to conceive naturally. Please find the attached T-USG result and give me some advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your problem and seen the pictures (attachment removed to protect patient's identity).

Period span of up to 35 days is normal. Your prolactin 53.92 is high and you need medicine for it.

A follicle size of 1.8 cm or more is mature and if it does not rupture after 2.5 cm then injection hCG is given to rupture the follicle to release the egg.

You are trying to pregnant for three months. If your age allows then you can wait another nine months.

If you seek infertility treatment then doctor will investigate you.

Best wishes.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Thank you very much for your valuable and understandable advice. As per your concern doctor gave me cabgolin 0.5 one tablet per week for two months to reduce prolactin. I want to know is this normal to miss rupture of follicle for one or two months and then it becomes automatically normal without medical treatment. Yesterday, my right ovary value was 3 and my doctor gave me hCG 5000. Now there is no guarantee that I will able to conceive this month only. There are a lot of other factors also. Should I wait nine months before going any further treatment? My age is 27. I need your opinion. L-arginine gel is prescribed to me by doctor twice a day because of my dryness.

Will this lubricant create any problem to conceive?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Follicle may not rupture in each cycle and even if it ruptures conception may not occur. So, you do not need any special treatment.

Cabergoline will help with prolactin. You are 27, so you can wait for another three months and by that time prolactin will be normal.

Please do your husband's semen analysis before that.

Any gel applied before sex may interfere with sperm motility.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
