Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing constipation and sharp pain in my sternum. I am also having trouble passing gas. I take Omeprazol 40 mg eveyday. I had been experiencing this problem on and off for five months. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. It is concerning to hear that you have been experiencing constipation, sharp pain in your sternum, and difficulty passing gas on and off since last year. Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, is typically used to treat acid reflux, but it is not typically used to treat constipation. Some possible causes of your symptoms could be related to gastrointestinal issues such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or gastrointestinal obstruction. Additionally, your weight may also be contributing to your symptoms. You may relieve constipation by increasing fiber intake, drinking more water, and engaging in regular physical activity. Additionally, it is important to maintain a healthy weight, as obesity can contribute to constipation and other gastrointestinal problems. Also, have a thyroid profile and CBC (complete blood count) done. Hope this helps. Thanks and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
