Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am two months pregnant, and I am taking vitamin tablets as suggested by my doctor. I have constipation issues, and I am unable to pass stools. I have pain and swelling in my anus. Please suggest some medications that help treat constipation in pregnancy.

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As far as stool softener is concerned, I suggest you take the syrup Duphalac (Lactulose) or Isabgol. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. You can start with 20 ml initially and reduce the dose. Also, you need to increase your fluid intake, drink water and take a high-fiber diet. Do not worry, as I am always there for you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
