Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have struggled with my right eye, where I have had a red eyelid around the eye, and my eyeball would be bloodshot. I did scratch my eye two years ago, and that was the cause and got infected. I have gone to the doctors and told me to stop wearing contacts and put me on antibiotic drops and cream. It worked, but then my eyeball would still be bloodshot a month later on a random day. I eventually tried this eye drop for pink eye, and it cleared up my vision very well. I went to my regular eye doctor, and he said that my eyesight was cleared up, and everything looked good, so I can go back to contacts. I wear contact lenses all summer, and my eye was perfectly fine till three months ago. Suddenly, I woke up in the morning after a 40-degree night of work with my right eye back to bloodshot with the cold weather coming in. Now I am frustrated and do not understand what happened because it was perfectly fine all summer. I need help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

While using contact lenses, please maintain hygiene. You should be very cautious because if the infection comes and the cornea is involved, it will take months to heal. So as of now, please avoid contact lens till infection resolves. Better use glasses as of now. Use Vigamox (Moxifloxacin) eye drops four times a day for one week on the affected eye, followed by Eyemist (Hypromellose) eye drops six times a day for one week. Let me know how you are responding in a week.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.
