Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I used emergency pills the previous month, and my next cycle happened seven days after ten days of using the pill. After that, it was a three days cycle. My second cycle after that started after ten days and continued until now, 19 days. I went doctor last week. She did sonography, and there was not any special problem. So she prescripted Duphaston and Tranxamic acid for six days before. I use two tablets of Duphaston pills and two tablets of Tranxamic acid pills daily, but still bleeding. What should I do? Is it unusual? I am worried about my health.

Please answer my questions.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Dear, you have taken the emergency contraceptive pill that gave you withdrawal bleeding, as it is the effect. But, body cycles are still developing in response to hormones inside the body. Tablet Duphaston is a hormone that reacts to the body's natural hormones, whereas Tranexamic acid reduces bleeding. Your cycle is disturbed by recurrent hormonal intake haphazardly. How much is the tablet Duphaston, and how long is advised? You should continue the tablet Duphaston proper dose for 1-2 overall and stop it from having withdrawal bleed. Give some break to the body from externally induced hormones and help it to regain natural menstrual harmonic balance. Have a healthy diet, walk, exercise, have a balanced BMI (body mass index), and do recreational activities. Have iron supplements to reduce symptoms of anemia. Have a complete blood count, thyroid function test, and transvaginal scan, and discuss reports here or with a gynecologist locally. You can now have Tranexamic acid 500 mg eight hourly for three to five days.Have tablet Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) for complete 14 days, and then you will have withdrawal bleeding.

I hope you get my point.

Best of luck.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
