Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex with my partner before two days and that was my ovulation day. I started taking Krimson 35 from the next day. Am I safe?

Answered by Dr. Deepti Kurmi

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Actually Krimson 35 is not an emergency contraceptive pill. Hence, there a chances of pregnancy. I would suggest to do serum beta hCG (human chroionic gonadotropin) after 10 days of sex.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Kindly tell me some emergency contraceptives.

Answered by Dr. Deepti Kurmi

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You have two option for emergency contraception. First is pills, single tablet to be taken within 72 hours, in every medical store this is available with the name of emergency contraception pill. Second is Copper-T (intrauterine device) can be fitted within five days of sex.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But this is my ovulation time. Will the pills or IUD device work at this time?

Answered by Dr. Deepti Kurmi

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is advisable to take emergency contraception any day irrespective of ovulation if you do not want to get pregnant. Pills act best before ovulation generally. In your case, Copper-T is the best option as it prevents implantation as well and if pregnancy occurs, then it will not continue.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
