Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

We had intercourse, and my wife took the contraceptive pill that day. Her period came five days late than her usual date with a brownish clot for five days. The next month again period come five days late and it contains the normal color of blood but was heavy as usual. After that, we had intercourse again. This time her period was again late and her blood flow was a little less but consistently bled for four days. After her period ends she checks her blood pressure and it was 90/60 mmHg.Is there any chance of becoming pregnant?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sometimes periods might fluctuate by one week and it is normal. Normal menstrual bleeding ranges from two to eight days. Flow might fluctuate in each cycle. As per your description she got her period after the intercourse then there is no chance of getting pregnant. This blood pressure is borderline. Sometimes due to dehydration hypotension may occur so ask her to keep hydrated or consult with a physician if she is feeling giddiness or suddenly black out.

Thank you.
