Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

What are the side effects of the contraceptive pills? How much should I avoid, what will happen if I take them more, or how much can I take in a month? Is there any other way to prevent contraceptive pills and not get pregnant? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Hormonal contraceptives have side effects, but it differs from person to person accordingly to their physical health, body response, medical history, and drug history. Every hormone, especially sex hormones, can affect the female reproductive cycle slightly or harshly in the short and long term. Use condoms and withdrawal methods, and avoid the fertile period at your convenience. But avoiding sex in the fertile period is also a better option. If you are having sex in a fertile period, then use condoms. You can have an emergency contraceptive in case of failure of the above methods.

I hope the information will help.

Thanks.
