Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 25-year-old female suffering from extreme hair fall for the last three or four years. I have lost most of the hair volume these years, and hair falls in 100 to 200 strands whenever I comb them. My hair texture is frizzy and dry, and I also suffer from scalp itching and dandruff. I have tried many homeopathic medicines, but none were effective. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

1. 75 to 100 hair fall every day is very normal. So, hair loss should be considered only if the number of hair falls more than this.

2. Generalized hair fall in females is mostly due to stress, poor sleep, poor nutrition, and excessive blood loss due to menstruation.

3. Stress alopecia is also common in which females keep their hair very tight in a certain manner, creating tension in the root and causing hair fall.

4. Straightening and other procedures also cause weakness of the root. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid, etc., can also cause hair fall, but these are less common.

5. Regarding treatment, have a good sleep. Eat proper food with green vegetables and fruits. Take multivitamins like Follihair or Xtraglo for at least three months.

6. Check your blood hemoglobin. You should start iron and folic acid supplement if it is less. Also, check thyroid and diabetes to rule out other cause.

7. You can use Folliserum hair serum local application daily morning and 2 % Minoxidil 1 ml local application at night. Also, take tablets containing biotin, copper, iron, selenium, zinc, L-Cysteine, L-Lysine, and methionine once daily for three months.

I hope this information will help.
