Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A pregnant woman aged 24 years with running 36th week of the gestation period, undergone ultrasound given a report of looped nuchal cord around the neck twice. Is there any complication? Fetus movements are good with a normal heartbeat and raised liquor. Are there any complications?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The complication could be at labor, at contractions or during Braxton Hicks contractions. Have a strict check on fetal movements and do have recurrent fetal electronic monitoring. In case of reduced fetal monitoring, you need to evaluate electronic fetal monitoring. During labor also this could be stressed labor as cord around the neck that can press neck and can cause compression and reduced fetal hearts. During labor, you need strict and continuous monitoring. In case of abnormal graph during labor, you need to be evaluated by a senior gynecologist and to decide for delivery. Have a strict check on fetal movements and report if feel reduced.
