Patient's Query

Hello

I am a male who weighs 212 pounds and is 5 foot 9. I was diagnosed with COVID-19 2 weeks ago, and my symptoms have all gone away except one. I do not know if I have shortness of breath, dyspnea, or other breathing problems, but I feel like I need more air in my lungs, and my breathing has been uncomfortable. Can someone help me?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am very sorry to learn about your condition. COVID-19 is a very new and tricky disease, everyday we as physicians are learning more about it. For example, up to 30 % of all recovered COVID patients will still suffer from some degree of symptoms. It is called long-COVID and researchers are working day and night to find the reason for it and a cure. It is even possible that these symptoms will vanish into thin air after a couple of weeks, In your case I recommend a follow-up CT of your lungs. We need to be sure about what is happening inside you. In case you’re not insured a much cheaper x-ray would also be sufficient. It is important that you share your issues with your family doctor and COVID support groups. You might try Ambroxol HCL if the cough is still a problem. Also, inhalation of warm salted water five times a day might help to some degree. I wish you well and am sure you will overcome this last symptom.
