Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I just wanted an opinion on what I need to do. I have been having pain in my left arm along with feeling like I am going to get sick and tired. My mom passed at 34 with a heart attack. Then presently my younger brother has a blockage. I am wondering if I may be over-reacting or should I go to the hospital?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have a strong family history of premature coronary artery disease, you are also at risk. Modify your lifestyle. Maintain weight with BMI less than 25, and avoid tobacco and alcohol products if you consume them. Reduce salt intake, and avoid fatty meals and fast foods. Have an ECG and echo done. Have fasting lipid profile done. Follow-up with reports. You have to manage it aggressively.

Investigations to be done

Do lipid profile, renal function test, ECG (electrocardiogram), and echocardiography.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
