Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 21 years old with prominent pulmonary stenosis. My work is staying open during the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to know what employees will work. If I say I do not want to work, they may hold it against me in the future. It is a family video, so people are constantly coming in and out and touching things. My country just had a second confirmed case, and the patient was around many people before she was diagnosed. Does having pulmonary stenosis put me at greater risk, or is it safe for me to wait out the situation and work in the meantime?

Hi,

Welcome to the icliniq.com.

Pulmonary stenosis puts you at higher risk for complicated COVID-19 infection. So if you get a COVID-19 infection, then the course might be aggressive in you. Your country, as mentioned, reached a stage where complete lockdown is needed. However, it is good if you can avoid contact with other individuals and if you can stay at home with your family. Surface contact, handshaking, kissing all can also favor the spread of COVID-19. So avoid close contact and use frequent hand sanitizer. I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
