Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I just got a cover pos result. I was fatigued for two weeks with a productive cough-breath. X-ray and fever are normal. I need to be quarantined for one week after that. What should I do? Retest after three weeks? Will I be positive for the rest of my life?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern.

  • What do you mean by cover pos?
  • Did you mean COVID-19 positive?
  • Can you please send me your reports? I will check and let you know. No, you will not be positive for the entire life. Please tell me what symptoms do you have?
  • What medicine are you taking currently?

Please answer.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I have COPD. Yes, I meant to COVID-19. I am lost now as to what to do? I am told it is not a good idea to retest for three months. I had symptoms two weeks ago and will quarantine for a week. I need direction now.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for replying.

Do not worry; I am here to help you. I will clear your doubts and prescribe you medicine accordingly.

If you were positive before two weeks and now everything is normal, then do not worry. You need to repeat the test, and if it becomes negative, you can live your everyday life. And you do not need quarantine.

  • Can you please tell me where you were positive for COVID-19?
  • Do you have any symptoms now?
  • Are you taking any medicines currently?

Please answer.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

When should I repeat the test? I am on Albuterol, Symbicort, and Incruse inhalers. I tensed positive at one hospital. I now have a headache and fatigue. I am very neurotic, and I worry a lot. If symptoms started two weeks ago, do I need quarantine?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you were tested positive two weeks ago, it has been two weeks already, so you can try it again if you do not have symptoms. If you have some minor symptoms, then wait for one week and then test. If the test comes negative, then you do not have to be quarantined. It would help if you quarantined yourself until your test comes negative. If it has been two weeks and no symptoms, then most probably, your test will be negative. But to be sure the test is required. So repeat the test after one week it will be better.

You can take,

  • Tablet Vitamin C 500 mg twice a day for five days.
  • Tablet Multivitamin 500 mg once a day for seven days.
  • Do you have a fever or difficulty breathing?

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
