I have a curvature in my penis. Should I be worried?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a curvature towards left in my penis. As far as I can remember, I have it from the beginning. I just want to know if this curvature is normal. Since six months, I have mild pain in the head of the penis. The pain is not constant. It pains now and goes away in some time and then for 10 to 15 days it does not pain and then again I feel the pain.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the images sent by you (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, you have a curvature on the left. It is mild, not severe. If you do not have any problem in sex then there is nothing to worry. Since you have it from the starting, it is called congenital curvature of the penis. Only if it increases or creates a problem in sex then we will decide what to do. Until then, do not worry.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What about the pain? As said earlier, the pain is not constant. It sometimes pains and then it goes away. Can penis stretching exercises help reduce the curvature?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If there is an occasional pain then there is nothing to worry. When you have pain, I suggest you take tablet Voveran SR (Diclofenac) 75 mg. This will reduce the pain. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her and take the medicines with his/her consent. Stretching therapy is for Peyronie's disease in which there will be plaques on the penis. In your case, it will not help, as it is not Peyronie's.

Thanks.
