I had a few sips of alcohol, but I have a minor cyst removal surgery in the morning. Will it be a problem?

I had a few sips of a friend's margarita (not much at all, not even enough for a buzz, just to try the flavor). I am 19-year-old (confidentiality, please). I have small surgery in the morning just to get a cyst removed from my wrist. I hardly had anything to drink and am completely fine. I just had a few sips. Should I be worried about anesthesia for my surgery? I did not know that it would be an issue, but I looked it up to make sure and realized it was. I am taking Sertraline 100 mg and Cryselle birth control medication. Kindly give your opinion.

I understand your concern and will help you regarding it. Few sips of margarita should not be a cause of concern as already there will be just a little intake of alcohol. In addition, the half-life of alcohol is around four to five hours. Hence much of whatever little amount was there would have got metabolized. Also, for removing the cyst, there will be an administration of local anesthesia, which further reduces the concern. Therefore, you should not get apprehensive about this and go for the planned surgery. All the best and take care.
