Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am dark-skinned. Is there any possibility of changing color? If I drink red wine.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have mentioned that your complexion is very dark. There could be various reasons for the same. If genetic, it means that even if your parents have the same complexion, nothing can be done about it. We can go for specific treatments if it is because of excessive sun exposure. It needs to be diagnosed and treated if it is some skin disease. In case everything is normal and genetic, I suggest skin lightening creams like Retino A 0.5 % (retinoic acid) during the night only. You may try skin peeling; the details can be told if you decide to go for it. It would be best if you avoid sun exposure. Use of sunscreen while indoors and outdoors after proper cleansing, at least 30 sun protection factor (SPF) with both UVA and B protection. Wear protective clothing when going outdoors in the sun. I hope you find it helpful. Kind regards.
