Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male, I and my partner have had physical relations but never had sex, and nor I had orgasm with her. We have touched each other and had oral intercourse but I was careful not to touch myself and then touch her down there while doing all this. But now her period is late by a few days and we are worried about what it could mean. Any help regarding what is going on would be appreciated, keeping in mind that I have not orgasmed with her, and also have been careful not to get pre-cum from my parts to her parts (though it can be possible but have been careful not to). Any suggestions on what to do and think about regarding this, we do not want her to be pregnant. Kindly advice, what we did that lead her to be pregnant. Is it due to having oral sex, or touching each other?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If she has a regular cycle then many factors can delay periods like exercise, strict diet, sudden weight gain or loss, contraceptives, illness, medications, stress, and anxiety can delay periods. So check on these factors as well.

1. Have serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to check the exact pregnancy status.

2. If this comes negative have menstrual induction tablet Primolut N (norethisterone) 10 mg twice daily for five days and wait for bleeding for one to two weeks.

3. Take combined oral contraceptive pills for three months.

4. Eat a balanced diet and balanced body mass index.

I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Thank you.

.

The Probable causes

1. Conception. 2. Hormonal imbalance.

Investigations to be done

1. Human chorionic gonadotropin test (to check pregnancy status)

Treatment plan

If beta hCG is negative have menstrual induction and cocp (combined oral contraceptive pill) for three months.

Preventive measures

A balanced diet and balanced body mass index, and continue to have irregular periods then have a transvaginal scan and blood tests on day two of periods.

Regarding follow up

As per need.
