Q. Can pregnancy cause delayed periods after an unprotected sex?
Hello doctor,
I had intercourse with my boyfriend and his condom ruptured. We came to know about that and I took a tablet of unwanted 72 the next day morning. Then, I started having light bleeding of a dark brownish or reddish color, but for the entire night, it did not soak my pad. And I did a urine pregnancy test this morning. But it was negative, but I am having light bleeding and no abdomen pain-like periods at all. I have an average cycle of 28 to 30 days. Please guide me as I am having concerns.

It can be due to periods. One cannot exactly say that it is a implantation bleeding.
Wait for atleast three weeks post intercourse. After that, you can take blood test.

Till seven weeks, one can have a medicine-induced abortion. After that, the option is surgical intervention. You can wait and see.
